Disclosed Identity merges the concept of ‘self-portraiture’ with the application of scientific methods and techniques to matters under investigation by a court of law known as forensic science. This project explores identity and examines how this theme converges and conflates with personality, social categorisation, and values pertaining to cultural interdependence. The main influence for the final production is Joseph Kosuth’s experimentation in the relationship between ideas, words and images. In my research, self-portraiture is scrutinized through voice recordings, surveillance footage, forensic sketching, finger and lip printing, blood sampling, and other methods of investigation adopted by the police and FBI to find missing people or solve murders.
